While the songs are obviously Death Metal (or mainly DM influenced), the song titles and their image was far more Black. Some of the tracks on this demo sound more like black, others more like death.Probably the best thing about this demo is that the sound quality, while not great by any means, is still miles ahead of Mayhem's "Pure Fucking Armageddon" demo or Burzum's demos. Songs are not extremly complex, but are well written and shows a very young Darkthrone (Fenriz and Nocturno were 17!!!). The actual music itself doesn't compare in quality to later works like "A Blaze in the Northern Sky" or "Under a Funeral Moon", but then again, matching those albums is no easy task. This is probably one of those "tr00" metal albums to own, since it is a demo. Creative songwriting, and good old thrashy death metal grace the songs of this demo. If you ever manage to get your hands on a copy (good luck), keep it because they aren't easy to come by.
